The tiny hippos were said to be feeding on chips, raisins and bits of peanut butter on toast. A commercial was made in Canada to help kids learn that digital effects were fake. It backfired and a generation of Canadians grew up believing in house hippos.

 

Since ancient times, the hippo has been honored as a magical being. Tawaret is the Egyptian Goddess who takes a hippo form. You can find sacred hippos of her. They are also good Feng Shui. The house hippo is said to have a destined home. You will know the hippo is destined to be yours often as soon as you see it. Sometimes you will not forget a house hippo. You are allowed to have a house hippo! Its hip! Also, there are really funny commercials you can watch.

 

Recently, a second commercial was released in Canada trying to mediate the first commercial. It didn't work, now two generations of Canadians are asking realtors for house hippo inspections on new homes.
